Lee:
Phoenix Alternative, a steampunk, arty, independent festival in a listed Welsh workhouse in Llanwyfin. I in my orange poncho was considerably under-dressed which says all you need to know. A most enjoyable experience for sure, and I even got time to drunkenly abuse the lead singer of Dr and The Medics (good band but he was terrible)! Sadly, our car broke down on the way home which was a bit less fun! Fun times by the side of the road with our friend Tom Mills (a really good local player who played with us a couple of times on guitar) and Katie Van Berlo, a Mansfield based manager and creative who I almost began work on a bar in what used to be a Chinese restaurant in Mansfield (would have been a bad idea) because we really missed the now closed Town Mill, which, as another listed building, was a great local hub, and I'd been wowed by the likes of Wilko Johnson, the Mansfield band Lucky Bullet, and many other bands there.
